a Baikal over under 12 gauge for a great price. I have shot 6-7 rounds of clays with it and I can say I have been very surprised at how well it shoots. It locks up super tight and it patterns great and the sight picture is great. All I have done is put a better recoil pad on it. Anyone else have one of these?

My BinL has one and they are built like a tank, they're only hiccup can be the single trigger on them. I'm seriously looking at one of the two trigger O/U for a duck gun.

I have had one for about 20yrs now. I have put probably 2000+ rounds through it and it still take 2 hand to break it open. Only issue I had was the butt stock came loose, but that was an easy fix. For the price they are hard to beat.

I've had experiences with two of them. The one I bought for dog training, for $100 I had no problem dropping it on the ground if I needed to. My main gripe, and the reason it went down the road, was its being incredibly difficult to open. One could feel the grittiness upon opening. As mentioned earlier, it was built like a tank and weighed as much as one. If a little more time had been spent with a file to better fit barrels and action I probably would have kept it a bit longer.

The other was a gun a fellow shooter traded for from a Russian shooter somewhere. That gun was fitted and finished as well as any Beretta or Browning I have seen. It was as lively in my hands as any gun I have shot. Looked better than most too. I would love to buy it from him but he won't sell it. If I outlive him maybe his widow will sell it to me.

I have run prolly 5 or 6 rounds of sporting clays with it and the action has gotten a bit looser but still very tight. The thing shoots very well and with the new recoil pad fits me just right. For $225 i thought it was a hell of a deal. I will run it for a while and see how it shakes out. So far pretty impressed.

I handled one last weekend, guy had it in the group ahead of us shooting sporting. I’m being polite when I say I can recommended them.

If the only choices were either a Baikal or a Stoeger, I'd take up bowling.

No offense to the OP, but the truth is 6-7 rounds of clays is hardly a testament to the functionality and reliability of any shotgun...

I understand some folks’ budget only allows so much, but generally as with most things, the cheapest shotgun is not only not very satisfying but in the long run is not the most economical.

20 years and 2000+ rounds? You don't shoot much.

If your gauge of a good shotgun is after only 2000+ rounds it "still takes 2 hands to open the action" you don't have much of a gauge.

2000+ rounds is equivalent to shooting 4 Big Blast Sporting Clays Tournaments. Or maybe a day or two of shooting high volume Dove south of the Border.

I was only saying so far so good. Like I said the thing shoots great and for the money I paid there is almost no way to go wrong. I did take it dove hunting last weekend it it performed well.
