Upgrading my 12' shredder to a new Viper.... smile

[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]

Stock photo, as I pick it up tomorrow...

Sold my Woods 12' shredder. It was kind of a disappointment. The wings get VERY hard to raise and lower. In fact, one side won't come all the way up now. (The hinges and wing pin just fit too tight, and a little bit of dust and rust causes that.)

The new Viper is completely hot dipped galvanized. It also cuts brush of twice the diameter the Woods cuts. (Woods 1.5" vs Viper 3")

I'll be putting it behind my 75hp tractor.

Should be a go getter for years to come. grin

P.S. ~ Help Wanted Ad: I could use someone for a month or so to drive one of my tractors around, shredding, shooting hogs, coyotes and rattlesnakes off the tractor... I pay cash, and provide a nice place to stay.

Any takers?

Wish I didn't have to work. Sounds like it would be fun.
For a month. Looking at brush all day, would get old pretty quick.

Too far for me, but I'll ask a man I know.
He mostly runs a medium sized dozer,
but can handle about any ag equipment
made.
He's been overseeing a small cattle
operation, but last I heard the owner
got bored with it and wanted to go do
something else and was selling

Actually, besides sitting in a blind, I can't think
of a more peaceful thing I'd rather do.
If it weren't for giving my numb butt cheeks a
rest and refueling and toilet break I'd sit a tractor
all day

IIRC, newer tractor with A/C'd cab? New cutter? Sounds like a cushy job to me...

1000 acres would take bit. Depends on how rough the ground is and what you're cutting.

How fast can you pull your cutter on this job?

Thanks Richard, it's just that I'm not witty enough to compete up there.

Or not mean enough?

Can't begin to guess the hours I've spent sitting in some seat listening to an engine.
Bobcat to semis, ag, construction, timber...love it, but boredom comes easy to me.

Relaxed peace is boredoms foundation.
Nothing more fun than learning a new machine or process.
One a good level of competence is attained though, zzzz.

Oh, heck ya!

Both tractors have a/c cabs, stereo, and air ride seats! grin

Both are equipped with a hog gun rack! smile

Medium rough in this area, due to some hog damage... I'm making about 3.4mph pulling the 15' batwing.

What kind country/vegetation ya "shredding" that can be done with a bushhog (oops, patent/copyright infringement, "shredder")?

How much of it is too rough to get to with your tractors?

Devil is in the details, living conditions and pay scale.
