I should have taken before pictures. We had an excavator in to dig out three old culverts that had raised up. The water channel had cut around them, a real mess. We lost at least two head of cattle in the mud.

Made a couple at the deer camp.

Works good for creeks that flash flood.

One spot would normally be ankle deep, but a big rain could make it 6’ deep. Drained a big hollow.

Blew out a 4’ culvert several times.

Finally dug down the banks amd sloped them.

The prairie gumbo mud didn’t help when the winter rains sset in.

I'll have to take pictures of the one at one of the ranches I do management on.

It'll get your full attention as to how bad a dry creek crossing can get. eek

It'd be much better if all that mud were not mixed in. Could not be helped, it was on the culvert pipes.

That's some serious mud, when you go to losing cows in it. Hope you got it fixed.
