Has anyone tried this powder in the 22-250?
If so what kind of accuracy results?
I was going to try it with the 63 gr. Sierra SMP.

I don't remember my exact results but it wasn't good enough that I used it again.

Varget is where it's at for me in 60-70gr bullets.

IMR 4350 in a Shilen 14T with the 63 was awesome, right at a max load for the rifle, primer choice critical.

I have some awesome loads with IMR8208XBR in 223 but in the 22-250 it seems just too fast of a burn rate (might work with 40grainers).
I have had best accuracy and velocity up to 70grainers with H414/W760. As keith mentions IMR 4350 is worth a try as well

it would be a little slower for velocity with a 70 grain

but if its accuracy is as good as AR Comp, it will do the job if hunting with it...

For accuracy in a Savage 22.250, I've been playing with Benchmark, which is giving me very impressive accuracy..

The 8208 didn't do to well. For now I settled on a near max charge of H380 with the 63 gr sierra's. I have also learned there seems to be considerable lot to lot variance with H380.

I have some 4350 on hand and will try that too. I don't have any benchmark and have not ever used it but will see if some friends have some I can try.

H380 not only has lot to lot variation but is one of the most temp sensitive powders ever manufactured, if using a near max charge don't shoot it when temperatures are hotter than when you did load development.

btw: forget about Benchmark it's even a faster burn rate than 8208, shocked Seafire didn't suggest his usual Blue Dot

pretty tough to beat varget with 40 or 50gr.

I tried Varget also and about 1" groups was about the best I could get out of it. The Varget did real well in a different savage rifle with 55 gr. Sierra's however.

I have with heavy bullets it was ok but slow., RL 16 with heavies rock !-

I have settled on a 50 gr V-Max with Ramshot Big Game powder. Good groups and I am not shooting past 300 yards or so on most of my prairie dogs spots. I like their explosiveness.

if ya use Blue Dot, max load is 19 grains.. Regular rifle primer...

20 grains will pop a primer...

21 grains or more.. you'll look like Buckwheat after pulling the trigger....

Tried,not the best. Went back to my old reliable imr 4064

I tried 34 gr. of IMR4895 and 4064 with the 63 gr. sierra.
Both loads show good promise. I posted a picture of the target in the image gallery but can't seem to get it into this post.

I used 33 grains of 8208 and a 55 v max in my 22-250 xb and got the best group I ever shot.My rifle shoots 55 grain the best.I have some 60 grain I would like to get rid of by trade or cash.
