A friend brought this by the house last night and isn't sure what to do.
This was his grandfathers rifle that he came across.
The story goes that his GF formed dementia and someone removed parts from the few guns he owned.
Those 'parts' are nowhere to be found.
His question "any value as is'?
I told him that I'd pose the ? here.

I'd be finding that "someone" who removed the parts if possible and asking what the hell he did with the parts. The missing bolt is a big problem and could be an expensive mess.

Uh oh. Well, there is considerable value in the various parts. If he wants to put the rifle back into shooting shape, he would need to see what the approximate value of that rifle would be at that time compared to the cost to get there, but I'm sure you already knew that. Sometimes we do these sort of things even thought it makes no economic sense because of sentimental value.

It looks to be in fairly decent condition. I might even be interested in it as is depending on the condition of the bore.
