Should have sprung for the tent insurance I guess. Had the arctic oven set up in the yard to take pictures and sell it, and a bear decided he wanted to see inside.

Man, that's a bummer! I guess he didn't realize it already had a door. Hey, I might also be interested, if you're still selling it, just let me know.

Leave it up and watch it from close by as the bear may come back and you can reward him for his bad manners. Sorry that happened to a good tent. I have never had a bear problem with my tents, but I am thinking about getting an electric bear fence.
Any chance your home owners insurance covers it?

I have seen homeowners' insurance cover some goofy things!
Mark Begich, Joaquin Jackson, and Heller resistance... Three huge reasons to worry about the NRA.

Have never heard of tent insurance.
Have a tent with a few dainty blackie swipes and tastes.

One can leave the flaps wide open on a wilderness wall tent and the bear will slice its way in one side and exit the other. Had to quit the early wilderness camp setup after three raids in a row.

Thanks... I think in the long run, its probably just a funny story, although a somewhat expensive one.

Sent PM I would look at exclusions and turn it in as a building or tent on your homeowners , read the exclusions and put insurance in a way they cant deny claim. Its all in how you file the claim honestly.

I had a black bear destroy may 14x17 wall tent a few years ago, replacement cost approx. $2200.00. I hate bears!
