attached to my wifes hip, sitting on the couch. We took our youngest to college yesterday and stayed overnight in the college town, to move her in this morning. COVID makes it hard to even go to college these days. It was the first night this hunting dog has ever spent alone without my wife or I in his 2.5 years.... he survived but was glad to see us return. He was able to stay in the house because our middle son was here with him, but he sleeps downstairs,,,,

Resting on the bed after a hard day of picking up doves for 4 hunters yesterday morning and afternoon. Unfortunately the corn stubble and hard ground did a number to her pads so I'll have to fetch my own tomorrow.

No gun dog, just a gun shy Boxer. He is laying here in bed, under the covers with my wife. I am out from under those covers. Shows the pecking order!
Didn't vote for Fester. Oz made me hold my nose!

Right now they’re both asleep in their kennels. Milo is the dad. He got a dozen retrieves on doves opening morning. ![[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]](https://i.imgur.com/Qfsw2z1.jpg) Otis is the son, the “derp” is strong in him. Due to poor shooting he only got one retrieve Friday night. ![[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]](https://i.imgur.com/6LJwlS0.jpg)

Tonight, my dogs are chained up in the backyard barking. I'm hoping they draw one of the coyote family groups yapping at each other close enough to give me a shot. The one is about 400 yards out in the hayfield but is hanging up. The other is 3/8 or so of a mile to the east of the first group and about that distance from the house.
My first setter had this decoy thing down well. He would howl on command and whatever he said it brought coyotes in. All my dogs before and since combined have not brought in half the number of coyotes as he did. I still miss him greatly.

My setters curled up asleep on the couch. 9/15 is the grouse opener here in Michigan and we’ll be in the woods. Like every other setter I’ve had the one thing that he loves more than bird hunting is hunting for a comfortable spot to sleep.

In his kennel at my son's home in Missouri. I had to take him out there when we moved down here last year. Figured I'd go get him about now. Problem is, my 12 yo grandson has turned into a pretty good dog handler and has really gotten into waterfowl hunting.... I already made the boy give me my Les Baer back (at least until I croak.) I don't think I could bear to take the dog now... It's okay, he's a good boy...both of them.

I brought my 14 y/o to work with me tonight.... since I work the over night shift and no bosses to tell me I can't....
he rewarded my by pukeing up a whole belly full of puppy chow he stole from the other dogs dish before we left the house....
Always fun cleaning up dog puke....
fugger....
If a good dog will last 15 years.... and a pick up will last you 10 years... then, by my math... I'm only good for three more trucks and two more dogs before I'm done.
They only win.... when they cheat.

My two are laying on their beds here in the office. They both just got done chewing on their raw beef rib bones and now they're all stretched out.
I could wish a lot of things on my worst enemy but neuropathy ain't one of them.

Golden Lab, Gus. Was 12 when he died. He was a good boy and loved chasing pheasants. RIP old boy. Miss him every day.
