This past week a long time friend offered me a spot on Plains Game hunt with he and his two sons; the fourth person who was originally slated to go is unable to make the trip (wife w/stage 4 cancer). The trip was booked at a Michigan SCI awards banquet and the safari is scheduled for May 7 - 15, 2021. The initial package includes a Blue Wildebeest, Impala and a Warthog; then of course there is the "shopping list". For me it's a good Kudu, Blesbok and a Springbok.
Has anyone here have any first hand experience with Marupa Safaris ? They are located in Limpopo province.
Thanks in advance.

My brother and I hunted with Peter and Marupa last October. We went to the Cape camp and the Limpopo camp. We had a great experience in both locations. Are you Hunting one or both camps? I wish I was going back soon.

We are booked into the Limpopo camp.
I'm starting to look at flights to RSA.
It appears much has changed since the last time I hunted in Namibia in 1995.
Still not certain on what rifle to take; Browning Safari (FN) 30-06, Sako AII Hunter 308 or Sako 85 Hunter in 7x64mm. If there was bigger stuff on the menu I'd just take my CZ550 LUX in 9.3x62mm.

I preferred the Limpopo hunting experience. Should be great hunting. I took a Kudu there with a 270. You should be great with any of those calibers.

Only items I would add are the Limpopo camp had great Kudu, impala, and blue wildebeest. Bushbuck and waterbuck were available. The springbok, blesbok, and gemsbok we took were at their plains camp in Northern Cape. Also took a nice warthog in Limpopo
