Just acquired a ula 6mm Rem with a gang of Remington ammo that the gun doesn't like, gun has a 22 inch 1-10 twist. I'm thinking 80gr Barnes ttsx or something in a 100, if you have any suggestions, I'm open to them. Thanks

I think 4350 is your friend. It worked well for my 6mm’s.
My newest 6mm seemed to like long heavy bullets. My first 6mm liked 75 grain hp’s
Another 6mm of mine shoots 58 grain and 95 grain billets extremely well.
My suggestion is to get the Gack book and start there. Two other good sources - 1. Nosler reloading manual. 2. Ken Waters “pet loads”

I prefer classic.

For deer hunting I loaded IMR 4350 and 100 gr Hornady flat base spire points for a lot of years. In the last couple of years, I've started loading the 80 gr Barnes TTSX and Reloder 17. I tried the 95 gr NBT but my gun didn't seem to like them. It does like the Speer 85 gr BT and IMR 4895, that's my groundhog load.

My 6 mm Remington is almost 50 years old, and it still likes 42.5 grains of IMR4350 under a 100 grain Hornady Interlock or Remington CoreLokt. Great accuracy and terminal performance, it is under Hodgdon’s max load data.

I use IMR-4350 in my 6mm. Bullet weight from 85-95 grains.

The 85s are a Sierra Varminter, flat base spitzer. Hell of a coyote/deer bullet.

95 grain bullet is a Partition, works just like it was designed to, fine deer bullet.

Running 44-46 grains with these 2 bullets.

There may be newer powders that work as well or better than IMR-4350 but I haven't tried them yet. Do have some H-4350 & thought about trying RL-17.

I would definitely start with IMR 4350 for bullets in the 85-100 grain range. There may be something as good or better, but 4350 is the place to start.

My Rem 700 really likes plain ole factory Federal Blue Box 100 gr. soft points. Shoots em under 3/4" all day long and 1/2" on a good day. Guess I'm just lucky. I can't reload any better. Bell & Carlson Medalist Stock that has been bedded certainly didn't hurt anything. I bet that ULA will shoot lights out. Let us know how it goes...

I have an old 1965 700 BDL that I bought about 6 or 7 years ago. When I first got it I tried Rem factory ammunition for the brass and I was disappointed. After trying IMR 4350 I was amazed with the improvement. It shoots the 95 gr BT and the 80gr Barnes into an inch or less with 10 shots. I have also used R22 with the same results.

48.0 grs of R22 and 95gr BT gave 3070 fps
47.5 grs of IMR 4350 and 80gr Barnes TTSX gave 3375 fps.

Both loads group within an inch of each other. The Barnes load prints about 1.5" higher above the the BT's

BTY, the barrel looks like crap and the throat is a mess.

I found the 6MM to be easy to load for, back when I used one a lot I liked IMR4831 and the 105 gr. Speer HotCor.

Hdy brass, WLR, and 50grains R26 under a 95NPT gives good accuracy and 3240fps from a 24" Brux I had put on a trued 700. You'd obviously want to build up to that. I'd try 47-50 and see what it likes.

Most accurate rifle I own is a 6mm Rem on a long action 700...The barrel is a Pac Nor stainless.. reject...1 in 7 twist...
john Noveske did it before he ever opened his business...

I tested 15 different powders for it...only one or two were not very good.. the rest were great..

I was planning on two bullets... the 75 HP from Hornady and the 95 grain Ballistic Tip...

The best two were H 414...hands down winner... best runner up... 3031...

I was going for max accuracy....

velocity surprise tho, H 414 max charge with 75 HP.... 3650 fps at muzzle...one hole 5 shot groups... at 100 yds and not much bigger at 200...

I had a Rem 700 BDL in 6mm Rem for a while.
I settled on a couple of loads, the one I used the most was 95gr Nosler partition with 48gr H4831
It's a max load so use caution. Shot under 3/4" groups in my rifle.

Hard to beat a 95 gr Nosler Partition with which ever powder your gun happens to like.

That being said, I’ve also killed a bunch of deer and truck loads of hogs at the Ranch with the Remington Factory Ammo using the 100 gr CoreLokt bullet.

95 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip over 48 grains of RL-22. Works great on mule deer & white tail. Excellent bullet.

I've had the Remington rifle since 1974. Mostly my son uses it anymore. Still accurate, easy shooting and deadly.

This!! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

When I was a teenager we ordered me a Remington 788 left hand barreled action in 6mm Remington. Then we ordered an E.C. Bishop & Son stock for it, which my father inletted for it. That was my first centerfire rifle, and I have it to this day. I'm 63 now.

Prior to getting it, my father had bought a used Remington 722 with a 26" barrel in the old .244 Remington. I had shot it...a lot...and wanted a .244/6mm Remington of my own, so I went with the 788, which was available lefty.)

My go-to load for 100 gr. bullets was/is the 100 Remington Core-Lokt PSP over 42.5 grains of IMR-4350. (As always, consult loading manuals and work up loads slowly.)

My varmint load used the old 80 gr. Powr-Lokt HP.

I am down to, I think 3 ea. 6 mm Remington rifles:
The ones I have now are 2 ea. 700's and one 722 custom. Others I've owned, I shot out the barrels and those barrels were new when I started using them.

It looks like you are mostly interested in deer loads, but I use mine for anything: prairie dogs, skunks, raccoons, jack rabbits, coyotes, crows & pronghorn.

The 105 grain Speer spitzer with IMR4831 (I recall 45 grains) was very accurate (<1/4" at 100 yards). I shot a trophy pronghorn 6 times in the lungs before he dropped - I think the last shot was in the neck. He was at rest when I shot him the first time, so adrenalin wasn't an issue. The holes those bullets made were the same in and out. I don't think there was any expansion. As I recall this was when that bullet came out and it may have improved since then. And yes, I do my own gutting and butchering.
Another very accurate bullet is the 95 grain SST - with 51.8 grains of H4831sc it shoots consistently under 1/2" at 100 yards - 5 shot groups. The SST's were violently opening up in my 25-06 on deer, so I have not tried the 6mm bullets on game. I understand that Hornady has improved those bullets since they first came out, but I am hesitant to use them again.
A load that did not shoot so well was with Hornady 87 grain bullets and IMR 4350. (1 1/2" at 100 yards)
A very accurate load in one of my 700's is 100 grain Hornady Interlock bullets with 46.9 grains H4831sc. <1/2' at 100 yards
An accurate load Hornady 95 grain SST and 48 grains of 3100 - note I don't trust this load as it was with early SST's.
An accurate load is 39 grains H4895 and 75 grain Sierra - a varmint load.
A very accurate varmint load is 43.7 grains of H4895 and 58 grain Hornady V-max - <1/2" 5 shots at 100 yards
Possibly one of the best varmint load - consistently under 1/4" at 100 yards is 75 grain Sierra (Speer and Remington shoot well too) with 58 grains IMR4350.
Two more loads that shoot OK - 95 grain Ballistic tip and 86 grain F-tip bullets with 47.9 grains of H4831sc. (under 1" at 100 yards)

I've been shooting 6mm's since the 60's and have tried a lot of other loads, but they must not have impressed me much as I don't have records of how they shot. Back then I thought that there wasn't much for game bullets in 6mm. Today I think there's good options.

If I were to use 6 mm on deer, I would look hard at partitions.
