Folks:
It was a little slow yesterday, so I watched a few YouTube videos of Smith hunting sheep and goats in the mountains. Before GunWerks started to sponsor him he was using a fluted barrel stainless 7RM in his shows. At first I thought it might be a classic M70, but the bolt handle was more straight than the Winchester, and the bolt release was on the side like a MRC or Kimber. I was only able to catch a glimpse of a portion of the left side of the receiver, and it's ground flat with the name of the maker (unreadable) and the word "Alaskan". Any guesses?
Just curious.

The bolt handle and the bolt shroud look a lot like a Kimber.

I was thinking Dakota or Kimber but don’t remember an Alaskan model. Also, is Dakota’s bolt handle that straight?

It’s a custom rifle built on a Kimber action.

It’s a custom rifle built on a Kimber action. No, it’s a Dakota 97. Dakota made a “Hunter” and an “Alaskan”.

No, it’s a Kimber. I asked him. And it looks just like a Kimber.
