Dan: re - "Mould of undetermined source for paper patching the .45-70. Casts ~.451-.452" approx. wt is 510 grains"

I am interested, but wonder about that diameter? It is already over bore diameter for typical 45 cal rifles...paper patching with two wraps would have it over groove and you lose much of the benefit of PP.

Are you sure it isn't .441-.442? If it was, I would certainly buy it!

Dan/Tarbe - being the original owner of that 45 mould and using it for some time, I dug through my old cartridge box and found a couple of bullets............

The 'naked' bullet cast with WW,, out of that mould miked .449, the patched bullet is .459...

I shot them through a Marlin Cowboy gun with excellent results.....

Tarbe, my friend Muffin gave the dims for your consideration. Paper comes in many thicknesses, pick and choose. 9# onionskin runs .0025 in the box and shrinks to .002 after patching. Dress pattern paper mics at .0015 before patching.
