Got a new to me 30-30 a few months ago. Got a peep sight put on this past weekend. I got pretty good accuracy with open sight but hopefully this will help even more.

Anyone reading this have any experience? Did it help old eyes?

Old eyes love peep sights because you’re not trying to focus three-things before shooting.
(Rear sight, front sight, and target)

Because you’re just “looking through the peep”, the rear sight is no longer a technical focus point.

It’s magic!

Put the front sight on the target and squeeze the switch!

Yup, I've always liked peep sights. Had one put on my first .22 as a boy. While most of my centerfire rifles have scopes on them, I do have a pre-64 94 in 32 Win Spcl with a Lyman 66 sight on it.

You'll like the peep sights. I have the Williams Fool Proof (FP) aperture sight on my Marlin 30-30 CB and a Williams aperture sight on my Marlin 45/70. Both very accurate.

I have a Lyman on a Winchester M64 in 30-30. With my eyes that aren't the best anymore I have been able to shoot 1.5" groups at 100 yards with it fairly consistently. Sometimes as large as 2".

The Williams FP is a good peep sight, but they are made of aluminum alloy and to my eyes seem out of place on a rifle made of blued steel and walnut. The old steel Lymans are what I put on rifles that I like. If you can find one, buy the correct Redfield sourdough front sight with a big gold bead that stands out against any background and being slanted and square, they reflect light and don't have a halo.

If I can shoot 1 1/2 - 2” at 100 I will be a happy camper.

This sight looks great to me but I will know for sure when a friend that is a rifle-bow-scope-hunting nut gets to see it up close. The only comment he had from a picture was a smile and comment saying that it was “vintage”.

If it works I will think of it as perfect.

I still can’t match my clothes. Just a trait of growing up very poor. Only had 2 kinds of clothes - Clean and Dirty. Tried for the clean. Madris with stripes was probably common for me.
