I recently bought a Air arms TX200 MK III in .22 caliber. For a scope I put on a Weaver 3-8x32 with AO that will adjust to under 10 yards.
The only pellets I have tried so far have been JSB Exact Express's which weigh 14.3 grs. The way they shoot and hit I'll probally not bother trying anything else.
I have about 800 pellets through it so far. I chrono'd it with around 200 shots through it and it was shooting in the 650-660 fps. range. After a good 700 shots I tried it again and it is now doing a good 700-710 fps,. For conversation's sake my boy's RWS 48 shoots the same pellets 750-760 fps. It hits critters pretty hard. Been doing a number on starlings and garbage sparrows. Got two woodchucks yesterday as well out my mother-in laws garden. It did a good job with headshots.
It wasn't cheap, $548-, but is a well built gun. Been quite awhile since I have been in air gun mode but with this rifle I am thinking I might be for quite awhile.
Here's a pic.

Very Nice! That one's on my list to own some day. I 'need' a Beeman R7 first. After that the RWS M-34P needs to be upgraded to a TX200!

FVA,are you still shooting the TX 200 regularly. How has the scope held up to the double recoil of spring guns?.How would you compare the smoothness of the action and the trigger, to your son's RWS 48?.

Raj,
Yes I still shoot it quite a bit. No the scope hasn't held up though it is still on and usable. Upon a shot it appearded the glass got all fuzzy. The cause was the eye piece glass broke in a half moon like fashion though ignoring it you can still shoot and it has held zero. I am going to send it into Weaver , tell them what happened, and see what they do/say.
Compared to my son's RWS 48 it is just a much more refined rifle, both the smoothness of the action and the trigger, besides the overall fit/finish of the rifle itself. There isn't near as much "jump". This was true even when it was new but I tuned it as well(basically disassemble, clean apply various lubes and tars sparingly) and that made a even bigger difference and I kinda thought the scope might hold up being how much "deader" it was at the shot. Not so.
The trigger is very nice and I left it set up as it came from the factory. That is saying something as I am a triggger loony.

Hi FVA,thanks for the reply.Let us know how things turn out with the Weaver scope and warranty. The TX 200 is a very nice spring airgun.Did you put in an after market spring with your tune-up?.Did you have to change the piston seal or are you on the original factory seal.Glad to see another man who really likes an air rifle.

Factory spring and seal. I did put in a different breach seal from Maccari as well as use his tar and moly/graphite mix.

Do you like the stuff from Maccari.Does he still, only sell products for tuning airguns?.Or has he started to tune airguns like he used to do some years ago.
