Almost joined the win 70 cult tonight...again

Although I have a I have a few Winchester levers in my arsenal (1886 1873 etc) I currently do not own a model 70. I was touring Sportsmans warehouse tonight and there it was. A poor ole lonely model 70 controlled round feed claw extractor in 270 Winchester. Nice stock to boot. I say lonely because it is the last Classic they had and on clearance. Under 600.00 and of course new in box. I left her there but she has been on my mind. I do not know how many rifles I have but what the heck can I do with a 270 win that I can not do with all the overlapping calibers I already have? Darn decisions šŸ˜• I sure feel bad about leaving her there though

I got rid of the last model 70 I had, last year. Model 70 classic 338wm. Had the boss system and a 26 inch tube. I thought about whacking a few inches off the barrel but ended up trading it on a Sako of the same caliber and a shorter barrel.

Iā€™ve been pining them in the gun stores ever since.

It is a good thing you left it there. If a man has Winchester model 70 in 270 he can probably sell 90% of his rifles. You dodged a bullet I think.
