I have a .35 Rem. 336 but it has no model markings on the barrel? Born on date in the 70's?

Thanks,

Does it have a full magazine or half mag? 20” barrel or 24”? If it’s a full magazine it’s a 336RC or Regular Carbine, 20” half mags were Sporting Carbines, and the 336A was the half mag 24” rifle. I’m not positive it I think that by the 70’s the only two options would have been the RC and the A and I don’t recall ever seeing one so stamped.

If it's got a straight grip and it's from the 70's it's a 336T "Texan".

Well then it would be a 336C with 20" barrel and full length mag tube. There was a half mag 336A with 24" barrel in the 70's too but I think it only came chambered in .30-30.

336A can be had in 30-30, 32 WS, and 35 Rem. Early guns didn't have receiver drilled and tapped for scope mounts.

I believe the 32 spl. and .35 Rem were only available in the first issue of the 336A {1949-1962} and second issue 336A's {1973-1980} only came in .30-30.
