After a 20+ year hiatus from casting bullets, I finally jumped back in. When sizing my first batch of powder coated bullets for my .460.....broke my dm# sizer body! memtb

Not good.

And you just missed RCBS’ big rebate deal, could have gotten a good buy on a Lubamatic.

If you know a good welder, it is repairable. I have fixed worse before I retired.

Well, that's a bummer,

But if it's any consolation you don't need a base first sizing/lube die for powder coated bullets. In fact I think they work better with a nose first Lee sizing die, they're a lot less expensive and the sizing certainly goes a lot quicker.

Maybe your lubrisizer was mad at you for switching, or maybe the Universe is telling you it's time to get the Lee...

mch, It was just delivered into the “caring” and “capable” hands of a good welder!

Jim in Idaho, That’s a consideration, but, I have a “pile” of sizing dies and top punches for the Lyman. Plus, I have a plan.....”necessity is the mother of invention”! I think that I’ll “hose them down” with some Hornady One Shot case lube.....and see how that works. Hopefully, it will substantially reduce the bullet to die resistance.

Flat base punch, size nose first, bottom eject...
If flat nose you can go bullet after bullet.

If not the liftout plug works to drive them through.

Case lube ought to work.

I have one set up that way specifically.
Lube in slightly oversized in and out press to prevent misalignment, size nose first in the other.

Works well for long, softnosed heat treated shank rifle bullets that are a might too nasty for the Star.

A steel cupped top punch for gas check bullets, a flat for plain base, slightly under diameter.
Having the check swaged on last is always a good practice.

Sizer/Lubricator has been welded, will size a few rounds today. However, will do a complete “pass through”....which should eliminate any “stress on my press”! D@€n I’m a poet! memtb

I use a lee hand sizer kit with a lee c press, about $80 for the kit, including the alox tumble lube and reloading press. Works at sube 900 fps 9mm. and hard alloys. Haven't tried it for anything else. Using the 125 Lee lrn over 3.0 grs of alliant Bullseye for practice with the pocket gun and 150 gr lrn over 3.7 grs of BE for the practice gun.tumble lube. sizes and lubes about 1000 bullets per hour. Both are from 6 cavity Lee molds.
