The "Trading Post" in my neighborhood has an auction posted for Saturday, two days from now. There is a pretty long list of long guns and handguns. One of the long guns listed is a Model 42 Skeet (serial# 42003) . My understanding is these are a bit scarce or rare.
Any ideas about value, say for a Model 42 in"very good" condition ?
I may wonder up that way on Saturday. There's a few other guns that are of interest.

most start at 1000.00. features options, and configurations to look for for are too lengthy to post. it would take published a book.

I wouldn't sell mine for a grand, and its not all that nice, just saying ..... A "really nice" one is going to bring a lot more than that, do some home work.

A grand won’t buy a field grade Model 42 today. I sold a Model 42 Skeet grade, solid rib and all original deluxe wood (which was part of the standard skeet grade), a bit over five years ago for $3500, and had several takers. If it’s original, a Model 42 Skeet should bring nearly $4000. Key is ensuring it
Is original.

Cousin got $1100 for an 80% field grade...An 80% VR/SR Skeet will triple it at minimum...

Should, if there is no reserve and few buyers it may go for less....

Didn't make the auction, so I have no idea what it sold for. It was out in the toolies, so it's anybody's guess what the bidding was.
