Edison demonstration of light bulb on December 31, 1879,

Latimer [the semi blackman] patent on January 17, 1882 for the "Process of Manufacturing Carbons",

The Edison Electric Light Company hired Latimer in 1884, as a draftsman and an expert witness in patent litigation on electric lights.

My Dad told me a German invented the lightbulb. Dad was good for stuff like that.

A German discovered America
A German invented the automobile
A German invented the airplane.

You name it. A German did it first.

He'd gotten all this from his father. He was trying his best to pass it on to me.

Lightbulb? Yep! Look it up! https://www.mysteriesofcanada.com/ontario/first-electric-light-bulb/

1854 – Henricg Globel, a German watchmaker, invented the first true light bulb. He used a carbonized bamboo filament placed inside a glass bulb.

Hate to disagree, but.
1. Vikings landed on America long before a German.
2. Maybe Phoenicians before them.
3. Indians before them all.

If we’re going to count any/all of things that are loosely described as an airplane, some guy in India may have beat them all.

The only way a dot indian could have done that is if someone pushed his bed off a cliff whilst he was still in it.

yeah, the India airplane guy, I don't really believe, but have seen the report of it.

The Vikings and American Indians were definitely in America earlier and I tend to think the Phoenicians may have also. And, then there's the Polynesians.

Did pre-France Frenchmen beat the Indians?

I think you're kind of missing the point. I'm not saying Dad was right, but the Germans always seemed to have a claim for everything. I used to do the same thing you are. Dad would always tell me that Germans did it. I'd try to argue. Mom would groan. When I got older, I found out the claims were at least plausible enough that a German schoolchild could have learned it that way. That would account for my grandfather filling the head of my father with all this stuff.

In this case, you've got the following

https://www.deseret.com/1998/11/22/19413639/german-mapmaker-discovered-america

". . . America was so named by a German in about 1507, . . . it was a cartographer, . . . who did it. Mapmaker Martin Waldseemuller read a forged letter containing an exaggerated account of explorer Amerigo Vespucci's travels in the New World and drew a map based on this account. The map, a rough outline of South America, was included in his book "Cosmographiae Introductio," which also included the forged letter. He labeled this map "America," feminizing the Latin form of Vespucci's given name, "Americus." Waldseemuller chose the feminine form to be consistent with "Europa" and "Asia," existing Latin names with feminine endings. Geographer Gerhardus Mercator extended the name "America" to include all of the Western Hemisphere.

I tried this schtick on my three sons growing up, and they told me I was full of it.

You are doing better than I, my wife asked me what I wanted for tea/dinner tonight and I stupidly told her I didn't care as I don't follow women's sports.

After she finished throwing a wobbly I stuck my head in the kitchen and told her that I was just popping in to barrack for the team.

Not sure I am getting fed tomorrow.

Our beloved cousins in OZ and NEWZ provide no small amusement with their quaint speech. It amazes me that, considering they have spent their entire lives spinning about the solar system, upside down, I think they deal with it quite well.

Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

Getting back to Joe Hiden...

Joe must be getting even more demented; he only ticked one "special interest" box with that statement. To be a true Democrat, he ought to have claimed the lightbulb was invented by a gay transsexual Black Jewish socialist.

Odd thought: If you have changed genders, to which base do you run? Either way, you have to be gay. Think about it.

Back in 2000 there was a television show documenting the most influential people of the last millennium.

Two Germans, Martin Luther and Johannes Gutenburg topped the list.

Biden and the rest of the Dems are fundamentally anti-White. Make no mistake, Biden is extremely dangerous. Rewriting history is a thing.
