Does anyone know if Ruger ever made the M77 with the tang safety in left hand?

First LH 77, Ruger made was a MK2, early ones had a lip on bottom of bolt that prevented controlled feed. Side safety . Later LH 77 MK2 models were controlled feed and lip at bottom of bolt was gone.

Yeah, but they’re calling it the American.

No, but if you really want to know for sure, call Rody's and ask Bill or Henry, 'cause Bill and Henry know more about Ruger firearms made in New Hampshire than the next dozen "experts" combined.

Doesn't sound like they were made in left hand. None the less, I'm going to call Rody's and ask. Thanks for the help!

I called Rody's and spoke to Bill Jr. He wasn't 100% sure, but didn't recall that being offered in left hand. His spoke to his dad who was next to him and he didn't seem to think it was offered for lefties either. He said because he was totally confident in his answer to reach out to Ruger's customer service.

From all your guy's responses and after a call to Rody's it looks like it wasn't made in left hand. I'm going to give Ruger's customer service as a last ditch effort, or more so to put the final nail in the coffin.

Ruger's customer service isn't going to be a solid answer either.
Called them when the Americans came out for Davidsons in LH SS and the rep was not even aware they had been produced

This is correct.

Correct! There are NO left hand versions mentioned in the RENE Ruger reference for M77 tang safety rifles.

Thanks for everyone's help. My hopes and dreams for a left handed 77 with a tang safety have have now died. On to finding something else to dream about...

I'm joking around of course, but have run this same inquiry before -- the answer was no.

Glad to hear I’m not the only one that tried to chase down this unicorn.
