Wife was in town listening to some ladies talk about their hummingbird feeders. One lady says "Yeah, I have them come out around our place every night after dark" Yikes, nighttime hummingbirds, right?

Could get downright dangerous, alla them pointy little beaks zippin' around in the dark.

I'd be wearing my safety glasses for sure.

the bats come out here about 2 hours before dark, the H-birds get extra busy that last hour of daylight.

Could be some overlap in air traffic control

When I was a kid, I collected several gunny sacks of those things (newer, of course) after I heard you could rake in the pennies selling beer and soda cans for recycling. I was pretty disappointed when I found out they meant the aluminum cans.

I think I had some first time nesters in a live oak. Saw signs of a nest being built way out on a limb one day and thought that'll never work. Found these on the ground after the first tropical wave went thru.

Thought about rolling 'em in some flour and frying 'em whole in peanut oil, but they had some ants...
