I never run across a Woodsman around here. This shop (Firing Line Aurora,CO) still has (on consignment) 3 4" 3rd series Match Targets, 1 6 incher, 1 second series Sport, 4 3rd series Sports, 1 first series Target. I bought 4, and the owner cherry-picked the lot, before putting them out for me to rummage thru...... prices on the remaining, run from $599(Sports)to $1200 on the 6" MT....

Damn! I've always appreciated their history and looks, I have no experience with them. It's Ruger, Browning and S&W around here. I do have a bud that likes the High Standard guns.

Here's one I recently picked up. Stevens Model 10, tip-up single shot target pistol. Made 1919-1933. Latch visible on left side, manual cocking striker knob visible sticking out the back. Black hard rubber grips. Kind of an odd duck, but nicely balanced. Have you had a chance to shoot that on paper yet Gary? It was fun ringing steel with it (slowly!) at Joe's.

I want a collection of the High Standard Model C, in .22 Short. I wish autos today were were offered in .22 Short. Really like that round, always have.

Only one I have anymore, early Ruger Single Six engraved flat gate. I received this revolver on Christmas morning back in 1970. Man, the plinking and hunting I did with this thing! On Saturday morning, when I'd get my allowance, I'd get on my bike and ride down to the hardware store and buy as much 22LR ammo that I had money for, burn it up in a heartbeat, and then have to wait until allowance day the following Saturday! Lol! I've had all kinds of 22LR pistols since then, Colt's, Remington's, H&R's, Browning's and more, but this is the only one I still have.

The old flat gate is a good one. My son bought one (way too cheap) from a bud, gave it to me. The factory grip was broken, so I made ebony grips for it. I like the way you engraved your grip frame. A number of years ago, I picked up a pre-war Colt Officers Match which is a very slick, very accurate .22. Wearing Python grips, also shown with OEM grips And, the old S&W Kit gun I bought back ihe '70's, used, from a bud. I added the larger S&W grips, still have the originals. Good guns, all. DF

Thanks, but I didn't engrave it. My dad found this used way back then and wrapped it up for me for Christmas morning.

Another Stevens No 10, but this one is an early gun that got sent back to the factory sometime after 1931 when Hi-Speed 22 ammunition became available, it got a warning stamped on the barrel. I think the lock was the weak point, it's quite a heavy built gun otherwise. added warning stamp Hear is a real old time design, a Remington Model 1891 Target in 22 Long (not long rifle, that was just getting developed back then). A couple Deringers form the 1870's, one 32 Long rimfire and one 22 Short - Not the most user friendly way to extract cases - Just to clarify, as stated above, these are De ringers, not De rringers.....
