It is a Colt AR15 A3, serial number began with LBD 0223 (forgot the last two digits). The other side of the receiver is stamped "For military, law enforcement and export use only". I wanted to take a few pics, but the owner of the LGS wouldn't let me. It has a flat topped receiver and a regular front sight, with a pop up peep for a rear sight. He stated that it was a PD turn in. Not in the best of shape, but looks to be mechanically sound. Where do I find Colt Markings on the bolt and barrel? He wants $650.00 for it, so I gave him a deposit and he will holt it for me until Tuesday. What can anyone tell me about the age, etc of this rifle and if its worth the $650.00?

ARs are hot right now. Colts are solid, often selling for 1k+ right now. It's condition, condition, condition if the wear areas look good... I'd say it's a good deal... I'd go for.

ARs are hot right now. Colts are solid, often selling for 1k+ right now. It's condition, condition, condition if the wear areas look good... I'd say it's a good deal... I'd go for. This.

If it’s a mil spec Colt barrel, it will be marked CMP 1/7 on the top of the barrel between the front sight and the flash hider. The barrel will be chrome lined.

Yes I did. It's got a litle wear on its finish, probably from being in the trunk of a cruiser, but it looks perfectly excellent, mechanically. Now, I need to find a range near me. And, yes, it has its original Colt mil-spec barrel.
