Reading about Springfield's new one with a 10.5" barrel. Has what looks like a fancy blast can/diverter on it but I'll bet it could still put on a hell of a show.
I can remember going to the Knob Creek Machinegun shoot & with all the hardware on the line, the HK 91 SBR's(the short barrel, select fire variant, whatever the model is) were about as loud & produced the biggest muzzle blast of anything there. They were run on full auto of course.
I sure don't need one of the Springfields, & they are too expensive for me just as a novelty, but dammit, one would have to be a lot of fun. Provided enough ear protection could be applied.

I was thinking the same thing J. B. Be Well, RZ.
Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy. Its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery. Winston Churchill.

I'll bet it's a fun ride. I put together the 'weak sister'. It's a PSA 10.5" 7.62x39 upper. Cheap to feed, runs like a champ with enhanced firing pin, C-Products 28-round Duramags, and steel cased Russian fodder. 124gr does around 2150 fps. Loads of fun to shoot, up close, and plinking out to further distances, 400+.
