I have a pair of 725 Remingtons for sale. These are being sold as rifle only, no scope or slings. If someone buys the rifles and wants to discuss the scopes that may be an option.

First is a 725 30-06 with nice clean wood. Second is a 280 with good wood and a pad added to bring it back to factory LOP. I bought the 06 just for the stock and planned to put it on the 280 but never got around to it. Pictures tell the story.

30-06 $650 plus shipping.
280 $950 plus shipping.
Take the pair for $1500.

Are those scratches on the 280 on left side under scope? Has the 280 been refinished? Any wear on the bolt handle or barrel muzzle?

Mike

Yes, the 280 has scratches and the photo makes them look worse than they actually are. If I had to guess I would say they were made by the handle of a hunting knife. It have very light blueing loss on the muzzle and the extreme outer tip of the bolt handle but both are quite minimal.

Is that just oil or something you put on for the pictures or have they been varnished? Nice guns.

I took them out of the safe and wiped them down with G96. They have definitely not been refinished. My photography skills are a C- at best.

No, totally different with a safety similar to a 17 Enfield. Made 58-61 if I remember correctly. Around 16,000 total production with 280 being the rarest caliber.

725s are beautiful rifles. Remind me of pre-64 Model 70 featherweights. I have a nice one in 30-06.

That 280 is speaking to me. Just retired last week so better get used to the reduced income before I buy anything. Any trades you're looking for?

Ian trying to downsize all these things I don’t shoot but who knows. PM me what you have to trade. If it is cute I may be intrigued, put it in the safes, never shoot it and eventually sell it just like these two.

Based on the PM’s I would say so. It is a great rifle and I have mixed feelings about listing it but I have never taken her hunting. I did take the 06 to the range one time and that old girl was a serious shooter!

Not sure the reason, but it seems most of the 725s were and are very accurate. I have one in '06 as well.

Bump for a couple of dandies.
