Quit smoking in 1998. Now I can’t believe I ever smoked.

Started smoking in college, nearly quit during vet school, switched to Key or Copenhagen dip and did that during the 80's.

Last dip was August 4, 1989

Smoking. Hardest, yet best thing I ever did for myself.

I quit smoking 27 years ago this past January.
I got a post card in the mail from my son asking daddy to quit smoking. I quit a 2 to 3 pack a day habit, that afternoon.
# {[That son was born about 8 months after I received the card.]}#😁
Damn, but my wife is a smart woman!

Chewing Tobacco.

Was a truck driving crutch mostly, but I quit when two friends developed
oral cancer at the same time. Lifelong dippers in their early 50's,
it ruined them. Never worked again, they went through hell. One eventually
died after about 10 years of treatments, and having to have his esougus stretched
every few months.

Still crave the stuff occasionally. Will buy a pouch and have a chew or two in one day,
then give it away. Helps for awhile. Haven't needed to do that for a couple years.
Maybe it's finally kicked.

If it wasn't for the health thing, I'd buy some on the way to work tomorrow.

Never smoked thankfully. I substantially gave up processed food, carbs, sugar, etc. a year and a half ago and dropped 35#, more to go. That said, my wife and I were up at 4:30 yesterday. We had not had dinner the day before. She founds a can of Mary Kitchen roast beef hash in the pantry so down it went. About the same time of eating better I gave up chewing my nails. Now I am amazed at how fast they actually grow. Cutting back on booze very recently and working to quit fully in the next month or so.

Gave up wonen when I quit drinking....they just seemed to run together.

Since then I took up elk hunting, great lakes fishing, and gunsmithing.....all good trades!

I'm probably addicted to working out and can't seem to shake my need for rifles.
