https://www.gunbroker.com/item/878501381Here is one you don't see everyday. It was a 2 horse race after $350. I've only ever seen a hand full of them for sale. Less than 5 for sure. Even though it's a rare gun and in really good condition, I'm still surprised it went that high with the side mount. When you start the bidding at $1, you just never know....

Wonder what it would have brought without the holes? Hard to find a barrel band with that much condition (less the holes) in any caliber.
The bluing on the butt plate and the barrel band seem to be the first to go and that one still has both.

It was at 606 for a long time and I thought I might take a swing at it for 800 or so. Thought it might fly under the radar. No such luck.
I bought a pretty darn nice pre war checkered F for $605 about this time last year. You never know...

If it didn't have the holes I would have bid to win that rifle.

I know where another one is for sale, but tapped and the wrong buttstock.

I have one that is in the high 90% range, lettered by JTC. I bought it from Boltman on GB and I accidentally won the auction. Boltman was rather amazed. True. They are neat little rifles

That scope has to be 6 inches above the comb line or a bit more. How in the world could you shoot it?

If you look closely I believe that is a see through mount set up allowing the shooter to use the iron sights.
Certainly not my cup of tea.

Those look like the offset rings Willliams made for the Winchester 94. Don't know why you'd put them on a 99??
