Yeah, IF old Barns & Cabins Could Talk !

This is my family's Homestead Barn built in 1900. WITH that tin ! ! !

[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]

My Grandfather was only 9 or 10 yrs old when it was built. My G Gf and brothers built it IN this configuration.
In the 1920s they built a lower addition. It had a hallway and 4 or 5 feed/milking rooms.

Being on the S side, the sun, heat, & wind (our prevailing wind is SW) took their tolls on it. I tore that off and used the tin to cover the S wall -- which is Cedar polls.

There is MUCH reclaimable wood in this old barn >>> but I'm still using the barn which is solid today.

Jerry

Now THAT is pretty cool 😊 Have you ever done any prospecting with a metal detector?

NAV

I’m not sure your talking to me or gunnut?

I haven’t used a metal detector but I did find a hand forged Hay Hook from before my G father. It was buried in the barn lot & somehow got unearthed
a couple weeks ago.

I’ll post a pic shortly.

Deb & Doug continuing their tradition of always heading out together on opening day of grouse season. This year, on our own property !

They saw 2 & Doug got one, lots of really thick foliage still;
