Back in the Mid 1990's, when these were shall I say inexpensive? I bought an 1894CL in 32-20. I later sold it as the accuracy was rather dismal. I tried several different reloads to no avail.

Hornady in their reloading manual at one point extolled the great accuracy they got from their 1894CL in 25-20.

So those that have owned one of the 1894CL's in 32-20===> did I just get a rare lemon, or was the accuracy of the 32-20's not that great?

Those that own (or owned) one of the 1894CL's in 25-20, was Hornady's experience typical (that the 25-20's were accurate) or did they just get a good one.

I ask as the sights in my Browning 53 (in 32-20) are not working for my eyes anymore, and I am considering getting one of the 1894CL's (which I can mount a scope on) in either 25-20 or 32-20.

Thanks in advance guys,

Jerry

Hey Woodswalker mornin, I've had both a 25-20 & 32-20. Both were about the same about 1-1/2 maybe under an inch now & again. Had a 357 mod, 94 Marlin that shot like a dang varmint gun though with the first hand load I tried!!! I'm pretty sure there like most stuff ya can get a bad one the odd time. Shot my only 10pt buck with 25-20 & a bear with the 32-20! Buck went straight down, bear went 40yds & died. Maybe I should sell all my big game cartridges & keep the smaller ones??? Just happened to be what I was carrying at the time. Don't have either one anymore, played some with them then traded for something new or un tried. Never ever made enough money to keep them all. Hope this helps some. Bill out. 🐾👣🇨🇦

Good day. I own both the 94 CL in 25-20 & 32-20. I shoot my own gas check cast bullets. Accuracy in both is excellent. You must have just had a lemon. I've had an experience with another 25-20 & it also was quire accurate.
