The good precedent set by this young man's death is that a skateboard is now deemed a Lethal Weapon on the national level.

Judges and juries may vary from location to location but what cannot be argued any longer is that a skateboard is any different then a machete or a switchblade knife or a steel pipe... or a firearm.

He has six siblings namely Richard “RJ” Hughes, Caitlyn Hughes, Amber Beasley, John Gonzales, Jade Huber and Katlynn Norman.
He was 6’2″.
He attended Lincoln Middle School in Kenosha.
In 2012, he was convicted of domestic abuse strangulation and suffocation and false imprisonment with a dangerous weapon.
In 2018, he was convicted of domestic abuse strangulation and suffocation again.
He had a forfeiture case for possessing drug paraphernalia.
He had other charges that were dismissed but read in. These were for second-degree recklessly endangering safety, battery and disorderly conduct.
He had a stepdaughter, the daughter of Gittings.
From 2016 to 2019, he went in and out of jail. He was jailed in the Kenosha County Jail, the Dodge Correctional Institution in Waupun, Wisconsin, the Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution in Plymouth, Wisconsin and the Racine Correctional Institution in Sturtevant, Wisconsin.
His childhood friend Tim Kramer described him as “a class-clown-type of guy” who loved skateboarding while another friend named Max Seebeck said he was “a really sweet person” who “always had a smile on his face” in an interview with Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
His friend Justin Tawwater, born in 1991, told Chicago Sun Times that he was “all about street skating” and “all he would do was skateboard and make people smile.” The two often skated by the lakefront marina in Kenosha.
He had been working to renovate and sell a home, according to Tawwater.
