Thinking back, seems like the dems appointed 3 justices within 45 days, including RBG.

The GOP needs to not only push the President's nominee through the Senate right now, they also need to expand the court and TRUMP the Dems doing so, just in case. Give the President two more nominations, RIGHT NOW.

They are pretty appointment happy. But only when they are in the drivers seat. Any other time it becomes divisive, corrupt, unamerican, and a threat to our democracy. Wait until you see their chit show on this one.

Does anyone seriously think any lefty is going to promote Trump and Senate filling this vacancy now? It sure as heck aint suprising.

Not sure of what the mechanism to expand the court would be. Suspect it would have to legislation in Congress, so in order to do it without controlling the House an Senate would be a non starter

I didn't agree with the magic negroe's position on the issues when he was in office. The fact that he is no longer in office hasn't changed that. I say nominate a new justice on Monday morning and after the election increase the number of justices on the Supreme Court to 15, then nominate 6 more.

Mitch will never agree to this.

He could change the filibuster/cloture rule in the senate, but he refuses, he could allow President Trump to make “Recess” appointments, but he won’t, There are a lot of things Mitch could do to support America, go on offense against the communists and support his Presidents agenda, but he doesn’t

This would be a Major Change, something Mitch has always opposed, especially if it interferes or limits his power/control.

We will be lucky if Mitch gets a Trump nominee confirmed let alone a major SC change in Justice numbers.

Obama nominated Garland. Trump should nominate someone, too.

Article III, Section 1, starts with a broad direction to Congress to establish courts. “The judicial Power of the United States, shall be vested in one supreme Court, and in such inferior Courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish,” Congress has to set the number of justices and, as was said, with a Dem house, it's not going to happen now. It will only happen when 1 party has both houses and the whitehouse. Otherwise everyone will be out to block everyone else.

And hope they get at least 50 so Pence can be the tie breaker.

Easy, peasy if they really want to do it...................I highly doubt that they will, & this opportunity could easily slip away if DJT were to lose and/or if the Demons were to win the Senate.

No need to put off confirming people 'til next year when they could be confirmed today.
