If Trump wants to really accelerate this SCOTUS nomination, he should pick someone not on his published short list. The Dems have been running through all their histories with fine toothed combs, lined up accusers and have all the stories and visuals cued at all the news outlets.
Put a fresh name out there, it would be at least a great flanking maneuver that would push past the defensive fortifications.

If you work 40 hrs/wk: at 5% inflation and after 5 years, you need a 28% pay raise or to work 44 more hours (*one full extra week* per month+) to make up the difference.

Wouldn't that just drag out the proceedings even longer? They're going to get their dirt either way. One way just takes longer when time is critical.

Another is he’s stated he doesn’t want the job. Also his vote would be needed for confirmation. Don’t really know if rules would allow Cruz to vote for himself. It’s not going to be Cruz.
