I picked up some of the .50 caliber 350 grain lead bor locks. Anybody shooting these? How do they shoot, and how do they work of game?
A wise man is frequently humbled.

Can’t comment on the lead ones but I had great luck last year with the copper ones. Expansion in the one I caught looks like a magazine add. Others were all pass throughs. They were very accurate out of my cva. I do think the lead may be better for white tails as they might expand a little faster and dump more energy. Hopefully they keep these around for a while.

I'm shooting them out of my Omega with 110 gr of BH209. They're the most accurate conical I've shot out of that gun. Sighted dead on at 100, they drop around 7" at 150 yards and 14" at 200 yards. They seem to shoot better as the load increases.

I used the 350 grain Bor-locs in Colorado last year. Killed a 5x3 bull at around 120 yards and a Mule Deer buck at around 70. Bullets performed flawlessly on both, pass throughs and quick kills. Found to use them on Whitetail this year. I'm shooting them over 120g Blackhorn 209 out of a T/C Triumph.

I just tried then in a new encore barrel with 70grain by weight BH209. They did not group well at 50 yards. I think Ill give them another trial, but the powerbelts were in one hole.

I'd try pushing them harder, a hunting partner shoots them in his encore after he saw how they shoot in my rifle. He's shooting 120g Blackhorn also with good accuracy.

I weighed out 5 charges of 80 grains. I guess my 50 yards group was 7 inches. Scattered like a shotgun. Went back to 70 grains with 295 powerbelts and they almost touched. Borelocks just don't like this barrel I guess. Too bad. I may get another barrel, so I'll just set these aside or just sell them off.

that bullet did a beautiful job, excellent mushroom and weight retention. Shot placement could have been better IMO.

I agree that shot placement could've been better but I don't think it would've made any difference in penetration. I've shot 370 Gr Maxi-balls through the shoulder of an elk and they still penetrated another 2 feet. No way will this bullet do that. I won't use them again on elk.
