A liberal in the classical John Locke sense was someone along the lines of America’s founders and all about limited government and maximum individual freedom. Like so many other terms the left are masters at co-opting terms and changing the definition to suit them. We on the right have never been effective playing that game.

as far as I understand it Soros has become ridiculously rich via capitalist endeavours, yet he’s been giving his money away hand over fist to those that would tear the down the system that put him where he is and take everything he has if they achieve their goals, doesn’t make sense, it’s like giving a crow bar to a burglar who’s trying to break into your house.

Look at any communist or socialist country and you'll see that there is always a class of super rich and then a peasant class. A free, capitalistic system gives rise to a large middle class and that's where the power resides, as the scale slides towards totalitarianism more and more power resides in an oligarchy. The oligarchy can go by different names whether it be politburo, nobility, priesthood (ancient cultures), etc. They're the powers behind the throne as they say, they support and enable the rulers in exchange for favors and wealth. Look at Venezuela where people are starving yet Chavez and Maduro cronies are fabulously wealthy. Chavez's daughter has managed to siphon off $4 billion while Venezuelans are eating their cats. Communists don't want everybody the same, they want 99% to be the same (poor) while the 1% who rule are fabulously wealthy.

The super rich enable commies because they benefit from it in a symbiotic relationship. They get richer when they're the ones backing the rulers, it's good to be a "friend" of the King. The ones that get hammered by socialist/communist policies are the middle class, they can't be allowed to prosper because a prosperous middle class citizen thinks for himself and is hard to control. "Tax the rich" is the common slogan of democrats but what they really mean is tax the middle and upper middle class, not the truly rich. The Bill Gates, George Soros, Jeff Bezos types are engrained enough in the ruling class that no taxation scheme is really going to affect them, they have enough politicians in their pockets to ensure the laws are written for them. A professional couple making $400,000 a year is going to get fleeced by democrats though. Many people will call them rich but that's not rich, that's just upper middle class and they don't have the clout to avoid being fleeced.

The truly rich want socialism/communism because they get richer and more powerful under it.

At some time in the past, "liberal" meant believing that a person should be allowed to go his own way, make his own choices, and accept what those choices led to. Nobody had the right to control anyone else. Nobody had the right to punish others for the decisions they made. What was yours was yours to use as you saw fit.

But today, our so-called liberals take every opportunity to control every aspect of everyone else's lives. Every choice others might make are prohibited or made mandatory. Nobody can be held responsible for what they do - except for those who oppose the "liberals." Everything imaginable is taxed, restricted, redefined, or abolished.

There is virtually nothing liberal in being today's liberal.

For years/decades, I’ve said that calling Democrats liberals, is incorrect. Doesn’t do any good. The name has become synonymous with Democrats.

The totalitarian and authoritarian left gradually misappropriated the label liberal. Originally, it applied to the thinking of men like Thomas Jefferson and James Madison, i.e., minimal government, maximized personal liberty, under law, i.e., you were free to do what you wanted to do, till you wrongfully harmed another, and a regular citizen rarely if ever had any direct contact with government, so long as he never wrongfully harmed another.

Today, we'd call that either traditional conservatism or moderate libertarianism, since the label "liberalism" has come to mean the precise opposite of what it used to mean.

As I understand it (and I may be wrong). Soros made his money manipulating currency in Europe. I believe that he almost brought down the English government through his manipulation of the pound sterling, and I believe that there is an open warrant for his arrest in an eastern European country. Also, Lenin and Marx used the mobs to their advantage and then dumped them as soon as they had served their purpose, as did Stalin and Kruschev. What is happening is straight out of the marxist playbook.

The Founding Fathers were also white nationalists. Hell,...even Lincoln was a white nationalist.
