Seriously, I have ammo loaded for the 8 RM. Just gotta check zero. Haven't hunted it in several years.

I love my T3X SS Lite 7 RM and BOTH will see action this season.

I have never chronographed this load. Several years ago, Barnes put me in contact with a man that wrote for European sporting magazines and had done a lot of work with the 416 Ruger and their bullets. He was getting 2500 FPS with the 350 TSX from the 23” African. I am 1.5 grains below his load.
I had excellent accuracy in this rifle and another 20” and stopped there.
I actually hope to run it over the chronograph within the next several days. I have been putting it off for years. The main reason now, is I want to load the TTSX also.
This rifle and a near identical 20” 375 Ruger with 270 TSX are two favorites.

Sounds like a great rifle. How fast does the 350 move from your rifle. [/quote]

I really like the rifle and cartridge.
I also have a M70 Classic stainless re-barrel to 416 Rem. I like this rifle also. Though have only shot it a few times.
For my distances, the 416’s fit right in. And I have had very good accuracy with the 350 grain bullets. Which I consider near ideal for anything in North America.
The 416 Ruger and Remington versions, I can still shoot in the sometimes out of position game shooting positions as a “normal” recoil rifle. My 458 Lott, I have a bit more respect/concern over contorted shooting positions.
I hope you are able to get hands of 416, I believe you would have a lot of fun with it.

——————————————————————

I'll have to check out the 416 R Alaskan.

I've wanted to play with a 416 Rem Mag for a long time and NO ONE close to me has one that I can PLAY with.
Great idea. Thnx

WIll decide between the following three in rotation this year:

1) Winchester 70 XTR Featherweight Winlite 270 topped with Zeiss Conquest 2.5-8x32
2) Ruger Hawkeye stainless in walnut stock 7mm-08 topped with Cabelas Instinct 3-9x40
3) 1953 Marlin 336RC 30-30 topped with Leupold M8 3X

I am sure all three will get work this season.

The two I’m most excited for are:

A New Haven built Win M70 Classic FW 7-08 w/ FX3 6x42mm plex in DDs that I traded into here

A LR 98 6.5x55 I’ve been building for about a decade; gorgeous JRS in high-grade French walnut that Karnis refined for me with ebony end cap, steel grip cap, red decelerator, a diet, and grip scallops, hand-checkered wrap around pattern, aftermarket trigger, Wisner 2-position safety, S&Ks, and light-taper Apex Rifle Co barrel

Taking them to the range Saturday morning to sight em in gonna be fun!!

Old beater 760ADL in .35 rem.
Ran it last 2 seasons.
Took the M8 4x compact off and slapped a VX1 2-7X. Little longer tube, at 4X ended up w less neck stretch.
Proly just leave it at 3X (so front sight fuzzed out) and even more eye relief.

Steyr Pro Hunter .30-06. Aint blooded it yet.
Leupold VX3i 3.5-10x.

MZ would be my old TC Hawken Silver Elite .50 cal

Bow is Blackwidow HS 54#. Minor surgery has me no go for a few weeks so might end up running a Hoyt compound of some sort.

Savage 99H 250-3000. Going to try a receiver sight (Lyman 56s). Have been working with it the last few weeks. Confident in a shot within 100 yards.

Got a couple options should I need something for longer likely ranges. Should be a great season.

Depends on the weather. Nasty days I'll use my stainless/synthetic rifles. Browning X-Bolt 30-06, Tikka T3x 308, Tikka T3x 338 Federal or Tikka T3 243.
For the thick stuff I might take my Remington 7600 30-06 Carbine or even my Browning BLR 308.
For the days I just want to wander I might take one of my lever guns. Marlin 336 30-30, Winchester 94 NRA Centennial 30-30, Marlin 1894 44 Mag. These all have either Skinner or Williams peep sights.
I really want to get a buck with the Winchester 94 as it was left to me by my Uncle Hank. This will be the first year ever that I don't hunt with him, although I know he'll be there in spirit.
