IMR4350. Maybe after deer season, I'll play with it again to see if I can get to the next node without pressure. I'll check my load data when I get home to see where I'm at.

I went as high as 47.2gr, but the accuracy wasn't there. I settled on 45.6gr.

I've been using the 120gr TTSX in my Ruger 260 since shortly after it's introduction. This rifle was trouble from the start - horrible trigger, mediocre accuracy (1 1/2 -2 inches). I put in a Timney and began handloading, with my best loads (with both the Sierra 120gr Prohunter and the 120gr Nosler BT) hovering in the 1 1/4- 1 1/2 inch zone. Made a direct swap with the TTSX, absolutely no other changes and groups shrank to an honest inch, sometimes under. Bullet performance has been outstanding, both on whitetails and antelope. I once inadvertantly ran a magazine of this load through my Forbes 260 (for which I was trying to find a load for the 127 LRX) and was gifted with that rifles best group to date- sub 3/4 inches for 3 shots. Have yet to get the LRX to get near the one inch mark, let alone under it....


I don't know if I would classify this as a long range bullet, but it's certainly working out well on the sub-300 yard game I'm shooting.

Barnes doesn’t list that bullet for the 6.5-300. It should do around 3500 FPS plus.

Maybe they haven’t gotten around to it.

26 Nosler is pretty close. 120 TTSX is my bullet of choice, accuracy at 3,450.

I think you could use 869 powder, start with 26 Nosler data, work up from there. 3,500 not a problem.

My SAUM likes the 127LRX much better than the TTSX.

My hunting pard used the 120 GMX Superformance ammo out of his Kimber Mtn Acsent 6.5 Creed. 1 shot drt on a CO muley last year. Bullet performance was outstanding. Some of the Superformance ammo shoots better than I can load. The 130 GMX is my daughter's 22" 270 Win avg's 3182 fps and a S-D of 4.1

I’ve used the 120 ttsx.

I’ve rather the 127 lrx.

Had great luck with deer and pigs with the 127 lrx.

I’ll take the Barnes over the eld-x any day.

I like exit wound in the case they run. What I’ve seen with the 143 eld-x is that it’ll destroy the insides. But no blood.
I blind trailed a doe for about 100 yds. Skinned her amd vitals were jelly.

I cut my teeth with the ttsx in 35 whelen. Those are pretty substantial.
I’ll use Barnes until they quit making them.

I have heard from a couple of reliable sources that they prefer the on game performance of the 120 TTSX over the 127 LRX. Any truth to that?

I’ve shot elk, mule deer, antelope, and black bear with a 123gr Scenar from a 6.5 creedmoor and a 257 newton. I’d do it all over again. The only other bullet that warrants consideration is the 140 partition. I wouldn’t feel undergunned with either of them.

Dirt, you just never know what rifles are going to like....we probably just got lucky!

Can mess up a hog. Who says monos don't do tissue damage.

That'll work.

That bullet wasn't quite as accurate as the 120 TTSX or 120 E-Tip out of my Shilen, 26 Nos.

Traded my 300wsm for 270 Win. I'd probably use the 130TTSX, '06. 35Whelen, others I could also borrow.
Creed 6.5'll do the job.
