Anyone have any ideas of a factory option or a reasonably cheap way to build one? I have thought of a single shot but it would be nice to have the same operation as my hunting bolt actions.

Once upon a time.... MRC offered one of their variants in a 300 Blackout (Ranch Rifle?) . I "think" with LH option. However, I could not find one with my meager Google-Fu skills. Left Hand Savage factory 223 rifle, plus, a 300Blk barrel swap from NSS would get you there for a little under $800...

Suppressed, subsonic, bolt action .300BO's are cool. Have one built on a RH Rem 600. Everyone who shoots it is surprised by how quiet it is... wink

How about using a LH Ruger American in .223 as a donor? I’ve seen some of the factory barrels showing up on auction sites, although I haven’t seen a 300BO yet. If you’re not in a hurry, it should be possible to put one together for a reasonable price.

Zastava mini mauser actions would work. I just rebarreled a .223 action to 350 Legend. It took some action work to make it feed, but it’s a nice rifle.

If you happen to have or can find a left hand Remington 700 with the correct bolt head, CDNN has 16” threaded pre fit barrels for $99. I ordered one for just such a build but can’t seem to find an inexpensive donor action.

I appreciate all of the ideas. I will keep researching. I am also really interested in a Tikka CTR so I may just try to find one of those.

I'm following this thread because I have a similar interest in a bolt 300 blackout. I'm also researching the 350 Legend

Cz makes a 223 bolt gun that could be rebarrelled. Not sure if that would meet your definition of cheap though. Not sure it is doable but you could rebore the barrel to 300 blackout. Not sure if the dimensions would work but could be worth looking into.

Are you bringing this up because you're just learning this and think everyone else is, too? Browning offered left-handed rifles with 0.378" bolt faces, Ruger offered left-handed rifles with 0.378" bolt faces, Tikka offers left-handed rifles with 0.378" bolt faces, Remington occasionally offers left-handed rifles with 0.378" bolt faces, Zastava offered left-handed rifles with 0.378" bolt faces, Savage offers left-handed rifles with 0.378" bolt faces, Kimber of Oregon offered left-handed rifles with 0.378" bolt faces, ad nauseum. And so did/does CZ. Everyone (except you) knows that. And your point was what? They can all be potentially re-barreled or re-bored.

The cheapest option would be to locate a left-handed Ruger American in .223 and a right-handed Ruger American in .300 Blackout, swap the barrels, and resell the right-handed gun to recoup some cash. The next cheapest route would be to re-barrel a Savage or Ruger American with a pre-fit barrel. The costs only go up from there.

It'd be nice if Ruger would offer their American Ranch Rifle as a lefty. I just bought a right hand for my wife and kids to shoot and the features, handling and price point are about perfect. I've yet to shoot it, but I hear good things about the Ruger American rifles in regards to accuracy. Especially for a $450 gun.
