Yes I have. It's Ok, but no better than H4831. If you can find some, try R26. My go to powder now. A 150gr. Nosler Partition at 3000fps out of a 24" barrel with good accuracy. What's not to like?

I had been using H-4831 for years. Reloader 26 is it, as far as I'm concerned. I have some 7828 and was wondering about someone else's results.

RL-26 was my powder of choice with 150 grain North Forks....it gave a very good combination of accuracy and velocity.

I moved 270 and 280AI from H4831SC to RL 23. Don’t ask why! Both shoot MOA or better but just messing around I guess. Wound up about a grain or two less with the RL23 before pressure backed me off. Had problems with Nosler AI brass approaching max loads with Barnes 139 and 145 lrx. Still messing with the RL23 in both calibers. Anyone with info on RL23 as it still seems slow to appear in print?

RL17 has worked well in my 7x57, 270 and 284 with the heavier bullets.

I left H4831 behind a while ago and have never tried 7828.

I have listened to the RL26 reports, but have not as yet made that jump. I am assuming
it is a slow burner and a longer barrel (24-26) gets the most out of it?????

I found RL23 to work very well. 57gr under a 150gr Ballistic Tip for 3000fps in a 24" Remington 700. RL26 may give slightly higher velocity, but is not temperature stable. It is stated to be predictable. That's not the same as stable. RL23 is very temperature stable, and in most applications, only about 50fps behind RL26. I'll give up 50fps to gain consistency in cold temperatures, as is likely to be encountered in many hunting situations.

I have read some amazing results with the .270 and the newer powders. I traded for a Winchester Mod 70 awhile back. It loves the Hornady Whitetail 130-grain ammo and so did not have a reason to load for it. I realized that I only had about a half box of ammo left, so went to the local gun shop. All they had was the 140-grain stuff, so I decided that it was time to start loading for the old girl. They had a box of Sierra 130-grain Spitzers. The Hornady factory 130 only clocks about 2970, so I think that I am going to try to get close to that same load with the Sierras. I have some IMR4831 that should do nicely.

I don't need to hot rod this rifle, so it should be easy to get a load worked up. I think that for a person that is a one-rifle guy, it would be hard to beat a 150-grain premium at 3000 fps, from the .270.

Hunter works really well for me. I loaded up 140 SST for paper and deer around 3030, I could go faster, but accuracy suffered. Then I loaded some 130 ttsx 3100+ for elk and they both soot almost identical. got lucky I guess

All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

7828 is where it's at with the 130 E-tip and 140 NBT in the Number One I shoot.

I used IMR 4831 when I loaded for a Sako A-III that did not like 130 grain bullets.
