I am using RL10 in the .358 Win. with 180 gr bullets. I have also loaded a few 200 gr bullets with RL10.

Its a fine grain powder that measures and packs well.

I suggest that you work up loads from any data you can find and also use a burning rate chart.

The new nosler book list the RL-7 for the 358 , not sure on performance just loaded yesterday and heading to the range this week .

Does anyone know if 225 Bearclaws are available to reloaders ... cannot locate them .... have purchased them in federal factory loads for the 35 whelan and would like to load them for moose in the .358 win

What’s your best RL-10 loads, 180’s and 200’s?

That would be a great bullet to use. I did work at Jack Carter’s shop. I’d take my pay in bullets.

Some say it’s great, just it’s lot of info. RL-7 and RL-12 (discontinued) are popular. RL-10 has a good burn rate for 180’s and 200’s. And I have a can. Somewhere I got 45 gr with 200’s, which seems reasonable.

IIRC, Gunner500 mentioned RL-10 in the .358 Win. May need to check with him, get his load and then back off a bit...😄

Edited to add: QL shows 42gr RL-10 with 200’s at 2,500 fps.

I know you didn't ask but if you can get TAC and Woodleighs (that should be easy enough for you being in Australia) you will be good to go.

My load is 49.0 grs of TAC under a 225 Woodleigh Weldcore RN SN. Could probably go up another grain but have not had the need.

Holy throwback, this thread was started in 2011!

Hmm...

I saw where you stated there probably wouldn't be a response. I was thinking age of the thread. This info would definitely support your statement...

I got an RL-10 load from gunner500. Not sure I want to publish it quite yet.

It is a "gunner load" for sure...
