I would keep the:

250-3000, with cast bullets it makes a great plinking/small game round, bump it up to 75's and you have a great coyote rig, and depending on the barrel twist a good deer rifle..

7x57 Winchester it will just about any big game hunting you want to do

35 Whelen, you have to have a big gun

7mm Weatherby/6.5x300 to play the LR game.

With the proceeds from the sale of the others a nice little 222 Rem or 223 sporter

After the first shot the rest are just noise.

Which 4 would y'all keep?

.300 Savage 99
.250-3000 Savage 99
.358 Win 99F
.300 Weatherby Mk V
7mm Weatherby Mk V
.257 Roberts R77
.308 Win M700
.30-06 V
6.5-300 Weatherby Vanguard
.35 Whelen M700
7x57 M70 FWT
7x57 Savage 111

Keep the .308 win., the .35 Whelen, and the .250-3000. Sell the rest and if you really want a fourth gun get a .243

vapo, NOT directed at you.

In only 3 pages the differences in tastes/likes/dislikes and priorities are very evident.

VARIETY is good. Keeps rifles & ammo makers in biz.

These four would be my choice:
.300 Savage 99
.257 Roberts R77
.308 Win M700
7x57 M70 FWT

But like someone else already mentioned, there should be a good 223 Rem bolt action included.

Pursuit may be, it seems to me, perfect without possession.

Looks like the .257 Roberts and 7x57 M70 are on almost every short list. I have a few .223/5.56 but they aren’t bolt guns....

Keeping just 3 allows buying another whatever in the future.

All the cool kids have them. smile

You could just keep those two and not want for much in a BG rifle. Still need a 223 sporter though.

My wants would likely be different than your needs, but you said what would I keep:

.300 Weatherby Mk V
.257 Roberts R77
.30-06 V
.35 Whelen M700

I’m not sure what Model a “V” is. But I’d have to have a 30-06.

The 7x57 could replace one of those...

I prefer classic.

I think you should sell the 99F 358 to me. I’ll take good care of it. I have an identical it can sit in the safe next to.

It depends on what you want to do with what you'll have left. I'd probably keep the .358, .257 Roberts, .35 Whelen, and 6.5x.300. That would depend somewhat on how accurate each is compared to the others.

This is blasphemy.
That said, I reckon you have a good reason.
Do you mind responding to the questions about what type of shooting and hunting you want to do, and maybe a bit about why you need to trim to 4 rifles?
Do you need to raise some money for something? That argues to sell the .358 M99 as it is certainly worth a bunch, but I'd sure hate to let mine go - leaving tomorrow on an elk hunt with it.
Are you downsizing your home? Dealing with mortality and taking some strain off your heirs (bless you if so, though we all are aren't we)?
What kind of rifles make you the most happy? I think we'd all like to know your circumstances.

Cheers,
Rex

Keep or sell them all. Doesn't matter to me.

When I want to thin the herd I start with two rifles in the same or similar caliber. Take those two out and shoot them. Whichever doesn't suit me goes. Put the rifle up for sale and after it's gone then I'll pick two more to take out for a trip to the range. Pick one to keep, one to sell. Keep it simple.
