Forgot about those two. Love them, too. When this aging redneck figured out Spotify, and got a truck that lets me play the phone through the speakers, a devil was created. Nothing but old stuff in that rig, ever. It’s a refuge from the modern world, especially once I hit the gravel on the way home.
And to hell with McGraw and his tramp, and you can keep that trampy snot nose brat Underwood, too. Most of these new singers aren’t fit to polish Waylon or Merle’s boots.

That’s a tough choice since all 3 pairs were pioneers in their genre and all 3 made timeless, classic hits that will be enjoyed by future generations.
If I had to pick based only on their music and ignoring their personalities then I’d have to choose George and Tammy. George has a voice as soulful as any singer past or present and the chemistry they shared made the music “authentic”.
Got the feeling when those old guys sang they were singing about stuff they had experienced. The magic of the 3 I posted in the OP have not IMHO been equalled or surpassed. Arguments can be made for their contemporaries (like Johnny and June) but certainly not in the last 30 has anyone come close. As in even the same universe.
I’d rate all about even. I like Fricke and Duncan better than any of the others, although they didn’t do that much.
Good one Hanco!

This pair had a pretty good duo hit. I met Dan Seals a few times. He was my ex wife’s cousin. Super nice and very humble guy.

All That Glitters Is Not Gold is one of my all time favorites.
Yep. Mine too Gruff ! Reminds me of a little wild ass Barrel Racer I dated in High School.
By the way, Ole Dan let me fondle his 12 string Martin Acoustic that was his favorite guitar. 🤠

If I had to pick, the order would be ......Conway/Loretta, George/Tammy and then Porter/Dolly! It would be very clse between the first two. memtb
