Yes, I know "rasslin'" is cheesy but when I was coming up, guys watched and loved wrestling. I never carred for the WWF/WWE but sure did love WCW and its forerunners. My favorite performers were the Road Warriors. They kicked a lot of ass in their day. Hawk passed back in 2003 and Animal joined him today. Guess the 'roid abuse finally caught up with both of them.
that era of wrastlin' was the last i could stomach. when they started with all the "pimps and ho's" crap it turned me off. i used to watch it just for the cheese factor and i used to like going to the matches for the atmosphere. reminded me of when i was a kid watching bruno samartino and sgt slaughter and those guys. the RW's were a hell of a pair of men, thats for sure.
I have a friend that was part of the wrestling scene in Memphis back in the day, I talked with him today about Animal and his passing , he said the Road Warriors were some big ol boys , and tuff as they came .
I figured out the whole wrestling thing was hokey by the time I was 12 or 13. Not to say that all those guys weren't tough, talented, and fine athletes, but...
I think I watched for the last time in about 1968.
Don't be the darkness.
America will perish while those who should be standing guard are satisfying their lusts.
He was a good guy. I knew his partner Hawk better. Hawk was at the place one day when grandma, 102 years old at the time, was sitting out in the sun room and Hawk went in and towered over her gentle as could be and conversed with her. Her eyes big as saucers. Mike Hegstrand aka Hawk Rest In Peace as well.
