Fotis,I used use the hell out of H870 in the 25-06,fed 215's , ww brass, any 120.hodgon's older manual showed 64 gr max and that was compressed. If you got some of that.

Using 58.5gr Retumbo under a 115gr Berger in my 6mm-06 AI for 3265fps in a 26" Mullerworks 4R. I know three other guys who have all settled on the same load in their rifles.

Given the nominally larger bore size in the 25-06 AI, it is likely a great starting point for 115gr loads in formed brass to work up from using a chronograph.

I found my most accurate load was with H4831 and Berger 115 VLD Hunting. I find that most of my rifles love the hunting VLD bullets, but a couple hate them.
I took the barrel out with my first 25-06 AI IN 1K shots working my way up to max loads, trying 4-5 different powders. I am very happy with my current load at 3050FPS as far as killing performance and accuracy. It has a Shilen barrel bedded in a blue printed Rem action.

Just another tid bit of info I might add is that I started out using 25-06 brass to fireform. The forming ended up making my brass as much as .030 - 035 shorter than the trim to length measurement. I always wondered if that was an influencing factor in my barrel burning out. Before putting the new barrel on, I sized 150 pc of .280 Rem brass In a couple of steps to the 25-06AI and fireformed them. It was a little extra work, but I already had the .280 brass, and it enabled me to have the correct length cases.
The ordeal made me really appreciate that .280AI brass is readily available for my rifles in that cartridge.
Good luck with your load work up! You gotta love the 25-06AI. QM

We used 115's with R#22, great velocity and accuarcy. PRIMERS are night and day difference, CCI 250 is a good place to start.

After fireforming brass, 115NBT with Retumbo or H4831SC are my favorites

What are the real world velocities that you are getting? The 25-06 AI is one of those that gets overloaded a lot as guys think they can get Weatherby velocities and then proceed to come close to it but I doubt safely and sanely. That's why I have both a standard 25-06 and the Bee. The 25-06AI would probably be redundant unless I twisted it for the 128 Hammer and other 130's like Fotus has done.
