A top hand, from real concealment, hands at sides start, can average under .90 second to react to the timer's beep, draw and hit a 10" gong at 10F. once he's had a few warmup runs. If he has to start "cold", then the average will be more like 1.0 second, cause he'll either have to slow down a bit for the first shot, or miss.
.20 second of that is reaction time, and a guy who's holding a gun on you ALSO has about .20 second (at least) of decision/recognition time. If you take a sideways step, as you draw, you can make him slow down another .20 second or more, too. So, if you can get your CCW reaction, draw and hit time down under .70 second, you can "beat the drop", even if he's not distracted. If he IS distracted, you can do this from the belt rig. If I start "hand in pocket", on the gun butt, I can easily beat the .60 second at "hand it over' distance, or be under. 70 second at 10ft, including the side-step.

.9 sec AND you'll never complete the draw.
You'll be in your back at .6

It takes me 10 seconds to pull my handgun out from concealment.
But I can get out my knife in less than a second, as I use it to open containers of food.

you're dreaming. it takes .50 second to fall So you'd have to react and do something in .10 second, which is impossible, so you're fos
