all it takes to make any 1911 safely handle 460 Rowland is a spare barrel, re-chambered to the .060" longer case of the .460 case. It's the thick walled case that makes the round safer. It doesn't blow out at the feed ramp. We've also got much better powders for the .45 case these days. Even back in 1980, tho, a friend of mine was driving my custom-molded 230 gr H&G swc .45 slugs to 1000 fps with Blue Dot. That's 500 ft lbs, lots of penetration, cutting a big hole all the way thru a big animal. and you're not stuck with a clunk, otherwise useless huge clunk of a revolver, either.

I own seven weapons chambered in .460 Rowland.. Loaded thousands and thousands of rounds for it. Achieve up to 1,750 FPS in a Glock 21. You are in error and/or very short sighted in MUCH of what you say. BUT I WILL NOT HAVE CONVERSATIONS WITH TRANSVESTITE SOCK PUPPETS. Sorry others... but feeding Sock Puppets and Trolls ain't happening

If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.

they made 3 million for the world wars. I'd heard 6 milllon before, but I just checked wiki and they said half as many. Still, over 20 companies make it today and that's been going on for 40 years or so.

Some folks prefer a revolver. They don't leave evidence scattered about the country side.

can't silence them waf, tho. That's worse than the cases. Cases dont mean anything if you alter the parts that touched them and you knew to wear gloves when you loaded the mags. You''ve still got to destroy the barrel, revolver or not.

there's been 100 million AK's made, 19 million mosin nagants. The AK will take the lead from the Mauser pretty soon as the most-produced gun ever.
