For blasting, hunting, targets??? What weight bullets are you going to use? Do you have components? They are very hard to come by right now.

if you don't already have primers you are out of luck, unless you know how to light a .223 case with either 50 BMG Primers or musket caps.

Get a couple reloading manuals. I would suggest Nosler or RCBS

I only use one load for hunting and SD. 24 grains of H335, a 64 grain Winchester SP bullet and either virgin or once fired brass. Accurate, reliable, effective. I have components on hand to load a lot of ‘em.

If you don't have components on hand you will be lucky to get what you need without being picky. Powders are many, as mentioned H335; also CFE223, Lever Revolution, 2000MR, VV N540, N140, Varmint, Varget, 8208XBR, AR Comp are some good ones for heavier bullets.
Small rifle primers, and bullets of course. Supplies right now are hit & miss. Good luck.

I know where 1 brick of CCI BR4 primers are right now, but I don't want to pay the $70.00 price tag. I think if I were out, I'd probably drive the 100 miles to buy them though...
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

I have components on hand to load a lot of ‘em. that winchester bullet is known to be a bit fragile. What you want is Nosler's 60 gr partition sp's, but they're impossible to find.

Get that brass cleaned up, sized, trimmed, expanded, deburred, military primer-crimp removed, while you wait in components. Midway gets them, get on their waiting list.

Never needed a small base die for an AR and I’ve had a bunch of them. People need to let this BS die.

For awhile we could still find large rifle magnum primers down here, but now, even those are scarce. Last weekend dad did a little experimenting to see what it would take to stuff those into a .223 case, and with the right bits and a table top drill press, it didn't take too long to prep 20 cases, and with light loads in a bolt gun, they went off just fine. But now, it's hard to even find large rifle primers.

I've used lots of different brass in several ARs; standard sizing die works fine. I also use a case gauge.

Magic Load for the 223 Rem:
22.9 Hodgdon H322 under 69 Grain Sierra TMK CCI 450 Primer. Work up from below.
Some may question why H322 as it's a fast powder. But it's very temp stable (better than AA 2520, Ramshot TAC or CFE223). It's spooky accurate. Meters well for stick powder. And the 69 grain TMK is a hidden gem of a bullet.
If you want a cheaper bullet Hornady's 68 grain BTHP also work well as a substitute. Equally accurate, it just doesn't fly as well down range.

Re SB dies. Making badly overstretched cases - usually bulk purchase or range scrounged - fit your gun(s) sounds like a great plan. Do whatever it takes to make it fit right? Well, those overstretched pieces were probably damaged at first firing, have an incipient separation just above the web. These are the pieces that eventuate as broken cases with forward portion stuck in the chamber. The simple expedient of using something like a LE Wilson case gauge to check your fired brass before sizing will identify badly overstretched cases. You do it by feel, so can be otherwise occupied watching a Hallmark movie with your wife/GF. Cull them. Repeat. Cull them.
The overstretched pieces, I mean. Not your wife/GF..........
Finally, overstretched 5.56/.223 pieces are pretty rare birds. But they do appear. Use the Wilson die and you'll find them. Use a SB die and you'll have a separation at some point. BTDT, used to use a SB .223 die exclusively. No more.
Overstretched 7.62x51 bulk brass is much more common, BTW.
