Probably a little late to worry about it but.....

I picked up a Mould Master Mod 61 today at the gunshow, paid $60............ been looking for a bottom pour.


PLUS it was full of lead

Haven't had a chance to use it yet, anyone have thoughts, worth it???? advice??

I bought one several years ago,it too was full of lead and came with a plastic tub of lead ingots.

It cost 30 bucks and you will like the pot.

It has been used for at least 5 years and the only thing i had to fix is the plug in.

are you a member at castboolits forum? best join and read. Tons of good info there. I am not going to all the health risks, fire hazards, hassle and expense of scrap lead, etc, and not make LOTS of bullet fast. I used to have 3 of the H&G 4 cavity molds, but now I run 2 of the 6 cavity lee molds. I used to use a plumber's furnace, but now I use a turkey cooker from E bay. Both run on 20 lb propane tanks. The Plumber's one was much hotter and melted al lot more lead a lot faster. I use a side pour ladle. Open top ladles equal rounded bullet bases. I flux with beewax, use Lee alox tumble lube, even on bullet with normal lube grooves, it works ok for sub 900fps 9mm loads. I can average casting 1000 bullets per hour and size and lube them just as fast. The melt of 80 lbs takes about 10 minutes, but then I can add a couple of muffin pan ingots and they are absorbed in a minute or so. I use the Lee single station press and their "hand" sizer die in that press. Just rattle the bullets a around in a plastic tray a bit with a few squirts of the lube on the tray, I lube the bullets both before and after I size them.years ago, I used a Star progressive sizer-luber machine, but it's a pita to switch dies in , or to switch grease-BBs and wont work in cold weather, plus it's like $500. I dont shoot enough to justify that anymore. when I was shooting 20,000 rds a year, for 3 years in IPSC, sure, I made my living selling cast bullets for a couple of months once.
