Often have said if we married younger and had more free money we would have

I know several doctors and business owners here who have done exactly that.

Friends of ours who are very conservative and strong Christians adopted a boy and girl orphans from Liberia at ages 3 and 4. I cautioned them about that and they were somewhat offended and were cool towards me for years. Both have been homeschooled and in private school and are now a junior and senior in high school. Now they are exhibiting typical groid behavior although they have never been around said groids. Parents are puzzled.

Pretty good kid until he got out of HS and decided to run "with his own". Now he's in the state prison system for assorted misdeeds, including engaging in the drug commerce game.

Back in the 1950s, when Americans were adopting Korean War orphans, we had a pic of an oriental-appearing six year old at our house. Visitors would typically ask my mom who adopted the Korean kid? That used to piss mom off. The pic was of one of my cousins, whose mom was half Seneca, half white.
