I’m looking for a New Adventure in my Collection.. I don’t know a thing about AK’s so I need some direction in the New Market Guns and the Milsrup’s category..
Any Tour of Duty Direction in the Two Category’s would help me acquire a piece .. If there are any tips on Mag’s , Ammo and other improvements I’d be Grateful..

Got a Romanian SAR 1 that has been flawless, same for a 5.45 SAR 2. Kalashnikov once said the Bulgarian milled reciever rifles were the best he was seeing. All of the steel 7.62 magazines from the former Com-Bloc are good enough, same for the plastic 5.45 mags. Kalashnikov understood that the magazines are part of any repeating rifle and any made to original spec are just fine. These rifles don't need shabby capitalist aftermarket tweaker parts. Except a trigger group if you're getting finger slapped. The steel cased bi-metallic bullet ammo has been the cheapest, it works. The former Com-Bloc 7.62 fmj from Wolf has had the air space tip just like the 5.45 fmj. It tends to make the bullet yaw in mediums denser than air. Ulyanovsk hollow points will blow up a milk jug just like a 223 varmint load. Zero properly and aim for the belt buckle.

I had a WASR with some function issues. Renegade walked me through how to fix them, and it's been flawless ever since.

The AK is made to be simple, and that's the way I've kept it.

Got your pm.
Entry level AK.
The Wasr 10 NIB
Or in real good shape wasr 10/ 63

No one is gonna snicker at ya running one.
Back in the 80,s and 90,s early 2000,s
It was a throw the dice thing.
Unless you could inspect 2 3 or 4 of em and get the straightest one with properly set rivets.

Since 2013 2015 their QC has gone up.

Up gradeable platform with forged and heat treated trunnions.
Heat treated receiver
Forged, milled heat treated carrier, rod and bolt.
Rak 1 trigger in em
Chromelined barrel with about a 40 to 50k life if ya clean the rifle.
20 k if ya think its an AK and dont need to be cleaned.( urban legend schitt)

Goggle AK Operators union
Robski,s video,s are very good.
He dont bullschit about brands.

A new Wasr 10 is gonna cost ya 899........
Shoot wolf polyformance 123 gr hp
Monarch/ academy 123 gr hp
Barnaul brown bear 123gr hp poly.
All barnaul ammo just rebranded
It is 2 to 2.5 moa ammo if you can do your part.
Expect to pay 339 to 349 for a K.

Prior to C19 bullschitt
A K was 179.00 in late feb early march.

Tula sucks mostly...
Some of it is 4 to 6 moa garbage
And it is just as expensive now as waaaaay better ammo.
Squib rounds have been reported numerous times with tula.

Golden tiger 123 gr hp is good
New red army standard is rebranded golden tiger hp and fmj
2.5 moa ammo.
Also up around 2400 2500 fps
Versus 2350 ish stuff.

Hp,s have more of their weight in the bearing surface area of a bullet rather than up front in the ogive and tip area.
They seem to be more accurate than fmj as a whole.
Jme jmo and many others also.

Yep.......

You can thank the bucketheads for that one with their C19 Bio wpn schitt they pulled to undo President Trump cause he stood up to them devious fuggs...

Fugging chinese
Fugging up everyfuggingthing .....

Watch Robski,s Wasr 10 vids.

I could go on for hours.

But I dont wanna.
Im tired right now.
Just got back from deer hunting on FTCKY.

Robski,s vids will help you alot.

Unless you're willing to spend the money in an up market, have already done your research, and have located a quality rifle, I would say this is not the time to be buying an AK.

My opinion. YMMV.

WASR/SAR trigger slap is easy to fix with a Dremel or a file.

No, sometime around 2075 they will be collector classics. Here and now there are better options.

Unless you run into an actual one that is pre 89 or 92 93 ish IIRC.
The bfpu,s nowadays are mostly surplus kit guns with u.s. barrels that are not chrome lined.
Some are also u.s. stamped receivers.
The stocks are mostly used imported mil surp.

The BFPU line nowadays are made too look authenticly battlefeold distressed .

If you are gonna go this way.
I would look for a WBP fox based one with a WBP cl barrel new and WBP carrier/ bolt assembly ,trunnions and FCG all heated treated matched, built on a Morrisey or nodak spud receiver.

Alantic firearms used to build alot of BFPU variants.
Parts are scarce now due to C19 bullchitt.

If ya want a really nice platform and I have passed twice on it so far.
My 3rd email notification when I get it. I will drop the hammer on it fast.
They go outta stock in 2 to 3 hours.
Hesitated twice so far .
Wont be a third.
Was kinda waiting on Robski to run one thru his 5 k torture test.
It's nice that others do it to show the rest of us the deal.
Aint no way I'm tossing a new rifle of mine into a swamp hole for 3 days then haul it out, shake it off a little and doing a mag dump.
LOL!!!

Alantic firearms and various other online sites carry these.
The new Zastava M70 ZPAP with CL barrel( a 1st for zastava)
RPK 1.5 mm receiver
RPK trunnions
And decent black walnut furniture.
Dark blued finish.

These listed at 1st for 799 to 839
Went up to 879 to 899 2nd offering
Probably be in the 929 to 959 range this time.
Kick myself in the azz for not buying back in april.....

Zastava is now out from under Century arms and is based in Iowa
(of all places) as Zastava Usa.
The rifles are imported already 922r compliant from what I understand.
So that takes away Century from doing 922r work which they had issues QC wise in the past when they fugged with things.
The WASR 10 is still century imported IIRC.
But most of the QC issues with the wasr 10 were pre 2013 2015 days.
They had a fire at the Cugir plant and when they rebuilt they addresssed QC.
Probably something to do with the rebuild of the plant and better production and safety sense.
JMO....

This is new Zastava Arms USA imported M70 ZPAP.
They shoulda left off the "read owners manual" blurb on the receiver...
Or made it 1/5 th the size of what it is now, or put it on the left rear side of the receiver......

AS,s issue wasnt trigger slap, even though it might have been a side effect of the basic problem.
Hammer bump.....

Train/ rail binding/ hangup due to hammer bump.
Lite filing and polishing of Fcg reset hook and trigger hook/ hooks/hammer bump and carrier contact cocking plane with hammer.
Didnt advise him to clip a coil on the reset spring.

Its all similar to curing trigger slap with a double hook mil spec trigger in many ways.
Best to adress the whole in one shot.

A good examination of parts before firing can show areas on contact/ wear surfaces to be addresed before they become worn/ peened / gouged.
Examination of same things after 3 4 500 rds will show the same in a bigger degree to address.

Kinda common with alot of large volume of fire mil wpns.

Polishing and very lite filing/ sanding to not break hardened surfaces or geometry usually improves function.
Lots of people pay big money to have work done...
It's no secret how to do this work with competence and the same results as professionals who treat such work as trade secrets others cant perform.
Fact is many paid gunsmiths polishing components are doing the same exact methods.
Videos are out their from many reputable smiths teaching how to do work.

You know this stuff too....

I thnk alot of people are just plain ole mechanically inept or scared to try stuff themselves.
And need to go to gunsmiths.
Which aint a bad thing

Not good time for ak shopping. Newer wasr 10 is very functional rifle . Had one that I liked very much till it sunk to bottom of deep lake in recent boating accident. It liked "mexican reloads" of tula with bullet pulled and 123 gr. sst installed , 1.5 moa rifle on days when my eyes worked.
