I haven't been to church in 48 years. I have no use for it.

Just watched a documentary on Queen Elizabeth and the Spanish Armada. She was a Christian, Protestant. The Spanish, were Catholics. Both of 'em loved Jesus.
But loved him differently, the distinction is lost on me.

So the English Christians slaughtered the Spanish Christians, all in the name of Jesus.

Leave me out of this BS I don't go to church.

Now wait a minute. Did not all this slaughter of Spanish "Christians" come about because they came to the English Christians country in an attempt to convert the country back to Catholic by force including torture and murder? And they were sent packing? And their surviving ships fit only for scrap lumber?

Nice work Hastings. And the tensions between the two countries were as much political as they were religious.

Why not?

I don't think it's really appropriate for an adult, but if you feel the need...

The guy least suited is the one who we would most welcome.

Jesus didn't spend his time with the rich and the snazzy dressers.
He walked among to poor, criminals, baggers, harlots. They were
who he wanted to to reach, who would listen and learn from his message.

The ‘religious’ people even criticized Him because he ate and drank “with sinners.” Jesus’ response including telling ‘the sinners’ to not follow the example of the ‘religious’ people for not only did they not practice what they preached, they placed unbearable religious demands on others and did nothing to help relieve their burdens...He said everything they did was for show.

Ironical that you'd join the conversation.

"Religion" can kill your soul. In my area most "church" is all about beating people with the old testament, you have to go every Sunday to fess up to things God can't even see and has already forgotten.
That's all I have to say about that.

I'm pretty sure the way most people dress in church has less to do with what they can afford and more to do with how fugkin' lazy they are.

Buncha no-khaki no-belt ownin' fugks.

Jeans and a loose fitting shirt to cover up my pistol. To my knowledge, no one outside of the pastor and the others who carry know I've got it on me.

Me too Big Jim.

I don’t own a suit. Do have a sport coat.

Maybe that’s civilized enough.
