I got to the Campfire lots later than most of you guys and I was getting frustrated trying to find a screen name that someone didn’t already have. Finally the name of dad’s place up north came to mind and that was accepted. He scored ten acres in northern Wisconsin with 300’ of lake frontage on a bigger lake with a 3 acre 38’ deep spring fed little lake for $1,500. back in the 50’s. It wasn’t such a windfall when the tax man worked me over for capital gains when I sold it

My other auto is a .45

One of my favorite memories is being stretched out out on a boat at night in Canada watching the northern lights. It happened in my early teens and is still vivid.

At the time I joined here I was thinking of getting into CAS and needed a nickname. Also eanted one for here.

crossfireoops asked me at Sierra Vista, why I used my real name.
I replied "It's my name, I'm in the phone book, my address is readily available. I've bought and sold cattle over the phone, and by handshake.
God forbid somebody can't find me - for good OR bad."

To tell the honest truth.....

When I was in horseshoeing school in Ardmore, OK, there was this big, ol', boy from Houston. He had the station two over from me. One of the fellas had stepped outside the barn to take a leak. On his way back in, he says to the Houston dude, "How ya doin' Charlie"? Charlie slooowly lowers the hind he's working on, sloowly stnds up straight, and says ever so sloowly...., "Nailin' arn, buddy. Nailin' arn!"

When I got into CB radios, I took 'ironbender' as my CB handle. So, I used that here.

There, more than you wanted to know! smile
